I invited Tony and Tim to the boat for a weekend of sailing and relaxation. Our families have been friends for a long time and we enjoy sailing and hanging out together. It turned out to be a great weekend. I came down on Wednesday afternoon and got the boat prepared for Tony and Tim who arrived on Friday night. Upon arriving, we cooked Bourbon rib-eyes on the grill and fresh veggies which turned out great. While eating dinner, we had a local visitor who came by to say hello and then joined in conversation for a few hours. It was good fun. We then turned in to be ready for the next day’s sail. Saturday morning turned out to be great weather and after a few cups of coffee, we got off the dock by about 9 and headed down the river towards the Sound. We then turned up the channel and headed out to sea for a nice day sail. It was a lot of fun. After a full day, we headed back in and this time headed for Cumberland Island to drop anchor for the night across from the Sea Camp dock. After anchoring, Tim proceeded to cook a great dinner of lamb on the grill with bleu cheese crumbles and some grilled asparagus. It was good food. We then sat up in the cockpit with some needed cocktails and good cigars to end the evening. The sunset from this anchorage is fantastic. Sunday morning we got up, fired up the dingy engine and headed over to the Island for a morning hike to Dungeness. It was great weather and we had a vigorous hike to the ruins. After a two hour hike, we headed back to the dingy and got back to the boat by 11. We then released the anchor and headed back in for an uneventful docking and packed our bags up for the trip home. Being that Tim is a professional photographer by trade, I have posted some of his pictures. Until next time… Fair Winds, David
